Women are called on to utilize inner strength in various aspects of their lives, relationships, and places of employment. Do you appreciate the inner strength you have as a woman? Are you embracing it?
When my children were growing up we faced challenging times. To calm their their fears and provide them with a sense of peace and confidence I would tell them “Don’t worry unless you see me worry.” And I made sure with all the inner strength and prayer I could muster they never did see me worry.
Don’t get me wrong it is not that I did not worry about things cause there were times when I was greatly concerned about the out come of situations but what good would it do to include the children with my worrying. I spent many times taking walks to relieve the stress and tears that had built up in my body. As is common with many women we show inner strength when the chips are down and lightening is striking.
What is Inner Strength?
Inner strength is when you have true control of your composure instead of showing emotion or reacting in a way that may cause the situation to worsen. It helps you become successful in keeping to your personal resolve. My personal resolve was to not let the kids know what hellish conditions I personally was enduring. Keeping the family calm, peaceful, and nurturing was more important to me than my own personal comfort. Inner strength along with prayer provided me the opportunity to keep my dignity and self respect in the way I controlled myself in front of them when others may have resorted to profanity or violence.
Inner strength is strengthened with one’s sense of spirituality and resolve to do the right thing. A women with inner strength needs to replenish and fortify their inner strength so as to not only be consistent but to appreciate their actions are the correct actions for them.
I know I am not alone in setting this example when raising children in situations that are not the best. Many of my fellow sisters have been utilizing inner strength over the years when necessary. That is what women are known for instead of the waterfall of tears displayed in movies and melodramas. Ask any child what they remember in the face of a family emergency? They will tell you of how their mother held it together whether there was a father involved with the family or not. Crying, screaming, and the stereotypical “fainting” didn’t happen. Inner strength more than likely came into play and a plan was made to work to a quick resolution to the problem. That is the way women work, we pull on the reservoir of inner strength we have stored for just those moments.
More Examples of Inner Strength
Inner strength is not just used for domestic problems it is also used for everyday problems that may fall under the following examples:
For instance, maybe it was the time your child said the tree jumped in front of their bike causing them to crash and break their arm. Instead of questioning the sanity of their explanation and wasting time, you once again utilize your inner strength to do what needed to be done at that time which is get them to the emergency room and receive medical help. There would be plenty of time to reason with them later.
Inner strength may have helped you to remain calm when you found your clothes have been destroyed by your five year old sitting in the floor of your closet with scissors. Yes, the inner strength shown by women has allowed many a child to live and grow to adulthood.
What about our husbands or loved ones when they do things that make us question their sanity? What makes us react with kindness, patience, tact, and respect? It can only be inner strength that has built up over years of resolve to stay in love with them, respect them, and once again allow them to live to redeem themselves in the future.
Through history women are fine examples of inner strength and self control. Take the time to reflect on your own experiences and how you have shown inner strength in you life. Now take the time to appreciate how accomplished you are, no matter what others might think, in handling situations and in maintaining control of your life. Yes, you as a women are in good company in the ability to use your inner strength. And for this I applaud you.
